בניין הלבנים האדומות הזה בגרמרסי פארק, שנבנה בשנת 1882, נושא את ההיסטוריה שלו בגלוי. אופיו נאו־קלאסי יווני, עם פרטי אבן חול חומה מסומנים בקווים עדינים, ויופיו נובע מהמפגש בין הישן לחדש. הגולמיות והעיבוד הכפרי של הלבנים והאבן — כמו גם השכבות שהותיר הזמן — הם מרכיבים חיוניים בעיצוב.

הקומה הראשונה משתרעת על פני כ־2,600 רגל רבועה, בתכנון פתוח המאפשר לפרש את החלל ביותר מדרך אחת. ייתכן שגם שטח נוסף של כ־1,000 רגל רבועה במרתף יהיה זמין. מדרגות פלדה תעשייתיות מובילות אל מפלס ביניים, בעוד שהקומה השנייה, השקטה יותר, חושפת היבט נוסף של הלופט.

Built in 1882, this red-brick Gramercy Park building carries its history openly. Greek Revival in character, with penciled brownstone detailing, it finds its beauty in the meeting of old and new. The rawness and rustication of brick and stone-and the layers left behind by time-are essential to the design.

The first floor unfolds across approximately 2,600 square feet, with an open arrangement that allows the space to be understood in more than one way. An additional 1,000 square feet of basement space may also be available. Industrial steel stairs lead to a mezzanine landing, while the quieter second floor reveals yet another side of the loft.
