This unique East Village apartment is a floor-through, just up the stoop from the street. The front looks out onto the quiet East 1st Street while the back looks on the building's common courtyard. The two bedrooms are separated by the rest of the apartment which consists of a Living/Dining/Kitchen as well as a large Laundry/Work-from-home room. The bathroom consists of two rooms; a jacuzzi tub and a sink and a w/c. The dining room has a counter which functions as a table with four chairs. There are four burners in a row with a hood that filters the fumes. A stainless steel finished dishwasher and refrigerator are fairly new additions to the space. There is a separate oven and microwave in addition to the kitchen sink! There is a small seating area in addition that can function as a living room. The middle room with the full-sized, stacked washer and dryer has plenty of additional space for a desk or media room. There is additional storage here as well, including shelves and wardrobes.
The building is a small Coop and there will be a small board package as well as interview by the board. It is located conveniently on 50 East First Street which is just a little above East Houston between First and Second Avenues. The F train subway entrance on Houston is very close and there are many cafes and restaurants in the area including on the block. The iconic "Russ and Daughters" deli and "Katz's Deli" of Harry Met Sally fame are across Houston Street. There are also fancy high rise buildings with hotels and roof deck bars with pools , such as Mr. Purple and trendy bars such as "Dirty French" at the Ludlow Hotel in the adjoining neighborhood called the Lower East Side just below Houston.
