ARCHITECTURALE HERKOMST
Volledig opnieuw vormgegeven in 2010 door de bekroonde architect Steven Harris, beroemd in de Architectural Digest’s AD100, weerspiegelt dit townhouse zijn kenmerkende mix van historisch karakter en hedendaagse helderheid. Musea-waardige zwevende muren, een op maat gemaakte stalen en glazen trap verlicht door een lichtkoepel, en oversized ramen creëren een loftachtige sensatie binnen een historische brownstone façade, hersteld van de voormalige marine-afwerking naar warm baksteen en steen in harmonie met het iconische straatbeeld.

LAYOUT KARAKTER
• Parterre: Een dramatische entertainmentruimte met hoge plafonds, een gaskachel, brede houten vloeren en een oversized galerijwand ideaal voor grootschalige kunst. Van vloer tot plafond ramen aan zowel oost- als westkant kaderen het uitzicht op de aangelegde tuin en de Neo-Gotische St. Charles Borromeo Kerk, wat zowel privacy als architectonische schoonheid biedt.

• Topverdieping: Verlicht door een centrale lichtkoepel, is deze flexibele ruimte ideaal voor een gastenkamer, mediakamer, fitnessstudio, of creatieve retraite. Een op maat gemaakte stalen en glazen trap met zwevende glazen treden stijgt door het huis, waarbij licht van de lichtkoepel wordt geleid en diffuus wordt door een gefluteerde glazen wand, waardoor een heldere verticale ruggengraat ontstaat die elk niveau met elkaar verbindt.
• Kelder: Nutsvoorzieningen en opslag met discrete integratie.
• Aanvullende functies: Geïntegreerd muzieksysteem, gaskachel, en gecentraliseerde gasgestookte HVAC met afzonderlijk te bedienen kamers.

Known for her contemporary yet timeless style, Sagar has created residences across New York, New England, and beyond, with a focus on functional sanctuaries that balance beauty, comfort, and modern lifestyle.

LAYOUT CHARACTER
• Parlor Floor: A dramatic entertaining level with soaring ceilings, a gas fireplace, wide-plank hardwood floors, and an oversized gallery wall ideal for large-scale art. Floor-to-ceiling windows on both east and west exposures frame views of the landscaped garden and the Neo-Gothic St. Charles Borromeo Church, offering both privacy and architectural beauty.
• Garden Floor: A culinary centerpiece with an oversized chef’s kitchen featuring a six-burner Wolf range, side-by-side Sub-Zero refrigeration, dual dishwashers and sinks, expansive stone prep surfaces, and abundant cabinetry. A formal dining room overlooks the garden.

A custom steel-and-glass staircase with floating glass treads rises through the home, channeling light from the skylight and diffused by a fluted glass wall, creating a luminous vertical spine that connects every level.
