BACK ON THE MARKET...This dramatic contemporary design atelier at the Hotel des Artistes has it all. Designed by architect Vibeke Lichten as a home for her and her husband, the duplex features an expansive great room with a floating staircase to the second level. Built in 1917 as a home for artists, the Hotel des Artistes is a majestic 18-story building with a Gothic-style facade featuring charming gargoyles of painters, sculptors and writers. Designed by the architect George Mort Pollard, the building has been home to many of the famed and illustrious, including Noel Coward, Isadora Duncan, writer Fannie Hurst, Alexander Woollcott, Norman Rockwell and Joel Grey.
