A new American French restaurant, Air Cafe, will open in 2027 in the building’s first floor space decorated with murals of dancing nymphs painted by early resident Howard Chandler Christy. Ideally located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, the Hotel des Artistes is close to the nature of Central Park, the cultural events of Lincoln Center and boutique shopping and popular dining on Columbus Avenue.

Built in 1917 as a home for artists, the Hotel des Artistes is a majestic 18-story building with a Gothic-style facade featuring charming gargoyles of painters, sculptors and writers. Designed by the architect George Mort Pollard, the building has been home to many of the famed and illustrious, including Noel Coward, Isadora Duncan, writer Fannie Hurst, Alexander Woollcott, Norman Rockwell LeRoy Neiman and Joel Grey.

The building is pet-friendly and washer/dryers are allowed with Board approval.
