For the first time in 30 years, residence 4J at the prestigious Astor Court is available to buyers. It is an opportunity to live in a totally new, completely renovated corner 2BR/2BA apartment.  It is thoughtfully remodeled with respect for its historical presence while acknowledging the need for modern convenience and technology. To retain the character of the original living room the distinctive cove crown was retained. A custom-designed mantle was built around the original Potoro marble surround of the rare working WBF, along with the addition of a Nero absolute granite hearthstone which is also used throughout the apartment for the window sills. Electrified fireplace sconces replaced candles. The concept of the living room was to provide layered lighting. The recesses, chandelier, and sconces are all LED on separate dimmers and can be used singularly or in tandem. All the electrical and plumbing throughout the apartment has been completely redone and is completely new.  Period appropriate crown and base moldings were restored or replaced.
