For a century, 1040 Park Avenue has stood proudly at the gateway to Carnegie Hill, a commanding 14-story structure made of limestone and brick. Built in the Georgian style by architects Delano & Aldrich, this has long been a venerable address. Residence 5E, a spacious two-bedroom, three-bathroom home that spans nearly 2,000 square feet, captures elements of that sensibility while serving as a palette for its next owner's vision.
